We are hiring Data Science Consultants to provide friendly, expert peer-to-peer consultations on topics like statistical programming, digital scholarship, data manipulation, quantitative analysis, text mining, geographic information systems (GIS), and data visualization design. These graduate students staff walk-up service hours and provide hands-on computing advice. We are seeking a diverse cohort of consultants united by a shared interest in teaching and helping others learn in a welcoming, community-oriented space. Data Science Consultants will:
• Provide walk-in consultations in their existing areas of expertise
• Troubleshoot student and faculty problems
• Update and maintain computer workstations and lab software
• Engage with visitors to orient them to our computer labs

Consultants will work primarily either at the Hill Library Data Experience Lab on North Campus or at the Hunt Library Dataspace on Centennial Campus. Each library serves a slightly different patron population, and we will be hiring Consultants who match the following descriptions:

2. Hill Library Data Experience Lab. Opening in August 2020, the Data Experience Lab will house Data Science Consultants supporting data analysis, data visualization, and digital scholarship in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

Proposed hire date is August 17, 2020. A commitment of at least one academic year (fall/spring) is strongly preferred. Summer 2020 or 2021 work may be available for a small number of Consultants, but is not guaranteed.
