Job Description

Job Summary/Basic Function:
Everett Community College is seeking a qualified instructor to teach guitar. This position reports to the Dean of Arts & Learning Resources and will work closely with the full-time music faculty member.

- Teach MUSC 128 – Class Guitar (this class is taught in person, on campus)
- Teach MUSC 159 – Private Guitar (as available)
- Prepare course materials, including a syllabus, web content, and examinations
- Identify and implement procedures/techniques to assess individual student learning.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music, Music Education or related area.
- Experience in guitar instruction.

Preferred Qualifications:
- College level classroom teaching experience in guitar
- Professional experience in guitar performance
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
- Demonstrated experience and/or classroom strategies for effectively instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion.
- A philosophy of education reflective of the community college mission

Work Hours:
For Spring Quarter 2020, MUSC 128 is scheduled for TTh from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Classes begin on April 6th.
