Description of the Job
The College of Humanities and Sciences is pleased to announce an opening for a post-doctoral fellow for the 2020-2021 academic year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Candidates must have expertise in racial inequity in health, racial inequity in higher education, and/or community-partnered research. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in more than one of these areas. The fellow will work with Jennifer Malat (incoming Dean and Professor of Sociology) on her ongoing projects and have time for new shared projects. Strength in qualitative interviewing methods and/or statistical methods required. Preference will be given to candidates who have both.
The fellow can work remotely, if they have the ability to video conference, or in-person in Richmond, VA.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have completed a PhD in a social science or related discipline by July 2020. Strong writing skills and the ability to work independently are required.
Demonstrated experience successfully working in and fostering an inclusive faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so at VCU is also required.
