Job Description

Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Cardiology section is seeking a qualified physician for an instructor year that will be one year focused on increasing knowledge and skills in general heart failure (both pediatrics and adults) and adult congenital heart failure. To achieve this, the instructor will have specific blocks dedicated to: adult congenital heart heart failure, adult heart failure/mechanical support/transplant, pediatric heart failure/mechanical/transplant and general adult congenital heart disease. During these dedicated blocks, the instructor will participate fully as a team member within these groups. The instructor will be involved in outpatient clinics, inpatient care (including admitting new patients, seeing new consults as well subsequent care of admitted patients), procedures related to these patients and other patient care and decision making roles. During the dedicated general adult congenital heart disease block, the instructor will perform duties as that of an adult congenital heart disease faculty including service weeks caring for inpatients as well as outpatient clinics.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualified physician will need a Texas medical license and either pediatric or adult cardiology board eligible/certification and completion of ACHD fellowship.
