Job Description

Job Summary
This individual will provide support for research projects and will gather, organize, and analyze data for use in studies, publications and other research related uses.

Responsibilities
• Conduct literature reviews
• Collects and compiles data from a variety of sources
• Assist in maintaining IRB protocols and study databases
• Preparation of study materials for study visits
• Recruit and consent eligible study participants via phone calls and in-person recruiting
- Communicate and follow-up with research participants to help retain them in the studies and prevent study attrition.
- Supervise and mentor new and junior research staff
- Maintain clear and frequent communication with other team members and other labs
• Assist with implementation of studies (e.g., study visits, data collection)
• Data entry and verification
• Research-related administration (e.g., maintaining supplies, scheduling team meetings)
• May edit research papers, project reports, etc. prior to publication or presentation
• Work with research team in the design and preparation of new research projects

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field, or equivalency, plus two years of related experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. A valid Utah Driver’s License may be required in certain departments.

Preferences
The ideal candidate will have:
• Prior experience or familiarity with research and study protocols
• Experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
Successful candidates will be independent self-starters; willing to learn research techniques; have excellent communication and organizational skills; work well with a team and be comfortable with computer databases.
