Job Description

General Summary/Purpose

Will be the primary person responsible for collecting and handling study data for numerous concurrent HIV and STI related research studies.



Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Obtaining verbal and written informed consent from potential participants

Screens potential participants responding to recruitment advertisements
Conducts routine research interviews
Provide pre-testing information and risk reduction counseling (HIV and HCV)
Collecting biologic specimens (urine, oral)
Making appointment reminder calls and other relevant reminder calls (e.g. network recruitment calls)
Calling clients to schedule follow-up appointments
Conducting field visits to locate participants for follow-up visits
Conducting field visits to post recruitment flyers for research studies
Maintain participant files


Minimum Qualifications (Required)

High School Diploma/GED.



Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for the required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.



Preferred Qualifications

Some college courses preferred.

Some related experience.
Prefer some related coursework or administrative experience.


Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing preferred.

Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills a must.
Experience with research projects involving HIV prevention and with diverse backgrounds preferred.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to move about.

Starting Salary Range: $13.00-16.00 per hour/ Commensurate with Experience
Employee group: Full Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m - 5pm/ 40 hours per week
