Position Summary
Adjunct instructors plan classes and implement and evaluate teaching/leaming objectives and student learning outcomes. An adjunct instructor undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate History courses within UNT Dallas’s History minor, including core-curriculum U.S. History (2610-U.S. History to 1865, and 2620-U.S. History since 1865), Texas History (4700), and World Civilization courses (1050-World Civilization I, 1060-World Civilization II), and there may be an opportunity to teach upper-level courses.

Adjunct faculty members will be required to use texts and meet certain content parameters set by the Department of History. Adjunct instructors also will be required to include in their courses certain student assessment measures determined by the department, and to compile data on those assessment criteria. Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree in History with at least 18 graduate hours in History, and outstanding experience in teaching core-curriculum U.S. History, Texas History, and World Civilization courses (both face-to-face and online).
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in History with significant experience in higher education;
Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution;
Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
