Job Purpose

The position is reserved for career researchers and is intended to be utilized after completing at least seven years of Postdoctoral research.

An in vivo electrophysiologist is sought with extensive experience in electrophysiology in head-fixed awake mammals and related analysis and modeling approaches. The candidate well conduct highly sophisticated in vivo whole-cell, laminar array recording, and/or population two-photon GCaMP imaging during sophisticated mouse auditory and visual behavioral experiments. The ideal candidate will have postdoctoral experience in a high caliber primate or rodent in vivo electrophysiology lab and a strong publication record.

Job Duties

Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator:

  • Plans, directs and conducts research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Develops research techniques and performs applications required for specific research projects.
  • May conduct literature searches and summarize information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
  • May supervise, schedule and coordinate the activities of less experienced research staff.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: Doctoral Degree. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience Required: Seven years of postdoctoral  research experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
