Position Responsibilities
The Nursing department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a Program Director position over our Master of Science in Nursing, Entry Level program. This is a tenure-track faculty position that is primarily administrative. Rank will be dependent upon education and experience.

The Henrietta Schmoll School of Health has a long history of excellence in health professions education and a wide breadth of degree offerings. Join us and collaborate in the transformation of our curriculum as we further develop our focus on interprofessional education (IPE), cultural fluency, and ecological approaches to health and as we position ourselves at the forefront of health education nationally. The Master of Science in Nursing, entry level program is designed for students who have already completed an undergraduate degree and want to shift into the nursing profession. The Department of Nursing welcomes and inspires diverse faculty members to excel as teachers and scholars.

The Program Director models and mentors the mission of St. Catherine University and the Department of Nursing and serves in leadership roles in the campus community. This position collaborates with Department of Nursing leaders and faculty to accomplish goals that serve student learning, faculty development, and curriculum integrity. Responsibilities include:

• Respecting and engaging with faculty, staff and community members from all racial, cultural and faith backgrounds
• Engaging in activities that promote positive relationships with students, faculty and professional colleagues, clinical and community agencies, alumni, and external groups
• Driving faculty engagement and professional development through orienting and mentoring new faculty, offering faculty development opportunities, and collaborating with faculty to set goals.
• Representing the program to internal and external groups and communities of interest
• Promoting enrollment through recruitment, orientation, advising and information sessions in order to continue robust enrollment
• Ensuring responses to student learning needs, consulting around academic concerns, and referring students to university services
• Planning and scheduling courses in collaboration with leadership
• Overseeing professional and compliance documentation for the program
• Collaborating with faculty to ensure that curricular content and learning experiences promote the mission and goals of the university and department, and that support student achievement of learning outcomes

Position Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
• Graduate degree in nursing; If master’s degree, doctoral degree must be in process
• Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse with current registration in Minnesota
• Three years of teaching experience in a college or university setting
• Evidence of scholarship (research, grants, publications)
• Service to the nursing profession

Preferred qualifications:
• DNP or PhD
• Teaching experience at the graduate degree level
• Academic preparation in nursing education and/or administration
• Administrative experience in nursing education
• Experience in grant writing and/or administration of grants
