Iona College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing for Fall 2020 semester. Anticipated areas of desired competencies include RN to BSN, MSN, MSN Nursing Education, MSN Administration and Post-Master’s NP. Principal responsibilities of this position are:

Teach in an area of specialty, including courses across different departments at undergraduate and graduate levels
Implement College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through classroom and clinical teaching
Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and an awareness of new developments in the field in order to update the approach to teaching or content.
Assess student learning outcomes
Ensure the integrity of advisement of students
Assist in student retention and maintain high academic standards utilizing appropriate student evaluation mechanisms for assigned courses/programs to analyze and implement changes as part of these programmatic and departmental outcomes
Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field
Continuing professional development
Utilize current technology in the performance of job duties
Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review
Engage in departmental and campus recruitment efforts
Participate in all departmental, school, and campus committees
Required Experience
An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field (PhD, DNP or EdD required)
A master’s degree in nursing
New York State unencumbered RN License
CNE certification preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching at the collegiate level required
Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience required
Recognized scholarly experience as evidenced by academic accomplishments, publications, and service commensurate with the rank of appointment
Peer reviewed national/international presentations, publications required
A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity
Excellent communication to a wide range of audiences, organizational, teaching, leadership and time management skills
Outstanding computer skills are a must and include proficiency in Blackboard, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
