Summary

The Department of Pediatrics' Section of Emergency Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, in association with the Texas Children's Hospital (TCH), is seeking pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) physicians to provide patient care in our emergency centers at TCH Medical Center, TCH West Campus and TCH Woodlands.  Candidates must be PEM fellowship trained and/or PEM board certified/eligible. Candidates will enter at the assistant or associate professor level, tenure or non-tenure track, based on experience and qualifications. Salary and benefit packages are very competitive.


The Section provides PEM coverage to:
 

  • TCH Medical Center, the largest free-standing pediatric quaternary care hospital in the country with over 75,000 Emergency Center (EC) visits/year (70% are ESI acuity 1-3);
  • TCH West Campus, which opened in 2011 as a suburban free-standing pediatric tertiary care hospital with over 40,000 visits/year (50% are ESI acuity 1-3);
  • TCH Woodlands, which opened in 2017 as a suburban free-standing pediatric tertiary care hospital expected to have over 20,000 visits/year (50% are ESI acuity 1-3). 


Continually recognized as one of the nation's premier children's healthcare systems, the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Emergency Medicine Section services the largest pediatric emergency center is South Central Texas, treating more than 130,000 patients annually. Modern, state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, strong nursing and tech support, and a cutting-edge operations system that bolsters professional efforts and overall satisfaction. The section has well-established training practices for multiple levels of learners (fellows, residents, medical students, undergraduate students, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants). Many of our faculty have advanced degrees and/or have specialized training in point of care ultrasound, sedation, global health, education, and research.
