Job Description

Lecturers deliver instruction primarily to a class or group.
The University of Virginia Department of Drama seeks applications to fill part-time, non-renewable, non-tenure track Lecturer positions in Dance during the 2020-21 academic year. Subject areas of particular need include, but are not limited to, movement practice/technique classes in Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, and/or Urban Dance Forms. Course load will be 1-2 courses per year, and compensation is $6,000 per course. We seek candidates who have a strong commitment to teaching, the ability to conduct movement classes partly or fully online, and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment both online and in person. Candidates are expected to possess strong interpersonal skills and an interest in engaging undergraduate students in the creative practice. Teaching experience is required. A terminal degree is desired but not required.
