Description:Per adjunct for the Bachelor of Arts in Leadership and Organizational Studies' program's course, LDSH 106-01.

LDSH 106-01 - Leading in a Diverse World

Saturday, October 3, 2020, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

This course will assist students in developing a framework to appreciate the impact of culture on leadership behavior and processes, and in developing behavioral and cognitive skills that can be applied in diverse cultural contexts, both domestically and internationally. By selecting a specific country for study of its social history and culture, students will gain an understanding of the cultural nuances to leadership style, team development, organizational and interpersonal communication. They will be able to apply this learning to the practice of leadership in human resource development within multi-cultural organizational environments.

LDSH 106 Leading in a Diverse World, is hybrid-online course for mid-career professionals in any career field (e.g., corporate, non-profit, civil service) and is part of a 2-year, BA degree completion program for mid-career, working adults in Leadership and Organizational Studies.

Minimum Qualifications

A master’s degree in Leadership Studies, Adult Higher Education, or a closely related discipline;

Experience in

· teaching mid-career adults;

· student-centered, collaborative learning;

· working with student teams; and

· hybrid or online learning environments including contemporary uses of emerging electronic technologies in diverse classrooms.

· International organizations (preferred)

Evidence of effective collaboration with a variety of colleagues.

Demonstrated alignment of values with Saint Mary’s College’s Lasallian, Catholic, and Liberal Arts traditions in philosophy and action.
