Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, with Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
Three (3) years or more of recent clinical experience working in a medical-surgical nursing unit, or nursing education teaching medical-surgical nursing.
Current licensure for professional nursing in Missouri.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Preference will be given to individuals who possess:

MSN in clinical area or education
Three (3) years clinical experience in mental health nursing
Current involvement in active clinical practice
Teaching experience in undergraduate nursing education
Work Hours
Classes are taught primarily in the evening/weekend, however, may be required to work other shifts to include days, evenings, and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

Compensation Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Active undisciplined license to practice professional nursing in Missouri.
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.

Brief Description of Duties:
Full-time Faculty position responsible providing full-time instruction, both didactic and clinical, primarily for the Mental Health Nursing course in the Associate Degree Nursing Program.

• Deliver effective instruction – Provide quality instruction, which is reflective of current discipline standards and is accurate, relevant, and engaging using college – approved curriculum and resources.
• Assess student learning – Demonstrate reflective practice, including assessment of student learning. This includes ongoing formative assessments, as well as official departmental assessment.

Special Requirements:

Specific Experience Required:
• Two years of teaching experience using interactive teaching techniques.
• Experience using assessment techniques to promote teaching and learning excellence.
• Demonstrated experience with current pedagogical and instructional methods.
• Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community.
• Demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching community college students.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Areas of Expertise:
