Position Summary:

The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting the audio-video systems at a campus-wide level. Responsibilities include setup and operate classroom display technology and video conferencing equipment; This includes PCs, webcams, microphones, projectors, and Extron technology. Provide customer service to instructional staff and students on using MS Teams to support classroom video instruction. This position will also diagnose, troubleshoot and take corrective measures on software, and hardware and assist in managing the intake of phone calls and/or walk-in traffic; diagnose, troubleshoot and take corrective measures as it relates to classroom technology emergencies.

Demonstrated support and customer service experience; required

Demonstrated knowledge of AV technologies (Extron/Crestron), architecture, and design; required

Demonstrated knowledge of AV control system programming (Extron/Crestron); required

Demonstrated planning, organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills through project life cycles; required

Experience in a higher education environment; preferred

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with five years of directly related experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training or college coursework may substitute at an appropriate rate for the required experience. Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Extron, Crestron, and Smart Panel Controls classroom control systems. Also have experience working with design/instructional technology (such as but not limited to Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Connect, HTML, Java Script, HTML5, MySQL, XML, etc). Builds upon exiting proficiency in Internet technology, including learning management systems (i.e. Canvas), Web 2.0, multimedia software and social media.
