Position Summary
Job Summary
The primary task of the Associate Director is to assist the Director of Athletics in the overall organization and administration of the intercollegiate athletics program, club sports and recreation in concert with the mission of the University.

Major Responsibilities
• Serve as the NCAA and Title IX Compliance officer (40%)
• Provide oversight of game management & event operations (including serving as tournament director for conference and NCAA playoffs), equipment room, sports medicine, club sports and Recreation (20%)
• Supervise & assess designated sport programs (15%)
• Serve as the Senior Women’s Administrator, if appropriate (15%)
• Manage all day-to-day operations in accordance with the Director of Athletics (10%)

Specific Responsibilities
• Provide leadership for an atmosphere of professionalism and respect among coaches, staff and student-athletes.
• Promote a competitive athletic atmosphere consistent with the NCAA DIII philosophy.
• Ensure that all department members have full knowledge of and abide by the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA and the conference.
• Serve as the department’s liaison to the Center for Academic Achievement, Events Management and Admissions.
• Assist in the development and management of the department, including budgets, strategic planning and office management
• Serve on University, conference and NCAA committees, as appropriate.
• Assist in identifying and nominating student-athletes for external programs and internship opportunities
• In the absence of the director, the associate director will serve in that capacity

Required Qualifications
Education
Master’s degree is required.

Experience
Three years of progressive leadership experience in college-level athletics administration required. Demonstrated familiarity with NCAA regulations and an established commitment to the student-athlete experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Excellent speaking and writing skills, demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and the ability to be a well-organized self-starter; ability to set priorities and advocate team concepts; ability to work effectively with diverse groups of constituents.

Physical Demand
Position requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Position requires the ability to move about the campus. Position requires the ability to talk and to hear instruction. Position requires occasional manual dexterity and the ability to use fingers, hands, and arms to feel, handle, and reach. Position requires occasional stooping, crouching and bending. Position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Working conditions are primarily indoor, with some outdoor work required. Evening and weekend obligations will be required.
