Physical Requirements
Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy.

Shift
Primarily Days Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Some evenings, weekends are possible.

Job Summary
Physiology is seeking a Laboratory Technician whose responsibilities will be to assist a PI in performing a variety of cellular, molecular, or biochemical hands on experiments; upkeeping of a mouse colony; and maintenance of an organized laboratory.

Daily work activities will require animal care; strong observational skills; attention to detail; cellular, biochemical and molecular biology assays; excellent record keeping; and cleaning and maintaining all lab glassware and equipment.

Must be proficient in using MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Basic lab techniques, Microsoft Office.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and research laboratory experience preferred.
