Job Description

The Academic Technology Specialist will provide support for the use of academic technologies at all Arcadia University sites. The individual will work with the Academic Technology Services team, faculty, and other IT members to understand the teaching/learning environment and assist with planning, implementing, and supporting technology for instruction.

Essential Functions:

Function as the key liaison between Help Desk, faculty, and Academic Technology team for the use of technology in instruction and learning.
Provide escalated help and support by working directly with faculty and students in troubleshooting and problem solving academic technologies including (but not limited to) Zoom, Canvas, Panopto, TurnitIn and EvaluationKit.
Assist in the research, selection, implementation, and adoption of technologies that support the curriculum across all content areas.
Assistance in maintaining and tracking of systems for instructional design and courseware development projects, as needed.
Assist in the accurate inventory tracking and maintenance of academic technology hardware.
Assist with the delivery and development of workshops and training offered by the Academic Technology team.
Work closely with faculty and the Academic Technology team to ensure the effective use of technology in the creation, use, and support of instructional courseware, media, and documents.
Responsive to technology issues on a high level to solve problems related to teaching and learning as directed by the Director of Academic Technology Services.
Facilitate the integration of technology into teaching and learning. This includes facilitating workshops on academic technologies.
Contribute to a broader understanding of emerging trends in higher education as it relates to teaching and learning.
Develop strong relationships with academic departments and faculty.
Marginal Functions:

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
