Job Summary:

The Assistant Men's Soccer Coach reports to the Head Men's Soccer Coach and assists in all aspects related to the Men's Soccer program specifically coordinating the recruiting efforts. This is a full-time appointment renewable on a contract basis.

*Willingness and ability work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.

Specific Responsibilities:


Assist the Head Coach in coaching and training the Northwestern Men's Soccer team. Coaching responsibilities include but are not limited to; develop and conduct all in-season and out-of-season sessions and work to develop comprehensive knowledge of soccer in decision-making, handling authority and setting and meeting objectives.

Must be fully knowledgeable and adhere to all rules and regulation of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University.
Administrative responsibilities include work with appropriate NUDAR staff in preparing for all home games; supervise team manager during home and away events, procure lines people, scorekeeper and ball shaggers for home games.
Cooperate with the Athletic Communications department and Marketing department in publicizing and marketing Northwestern Soccer; work with the N Club to promote Northwestern Soccer.
Develop and maintain all statistical performance records for individual student-athletes and the team.
Supervise and inventory all soccer equipment.
Establish itinerary, distribute meal money to student-athletes, coordinate travel, maintain ledger on budget expenditures for away trips and games.
Responsible for all compliance related administration.

Recruiting responsibilities include coordinate and supervise all recruiting efforts and establish and maintain all files on prospective student-athletes.
Position will be tasked as the primary recruiting coordinator.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
USSF “B” License and/or NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, or international equivalent.
College Coaching certification.
Willingness and ability to work, as well as travel, mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
Three years’ experience coaching at the intercollegiate level with experience at the Division I level preferred.
Experience in recruiting and supervising recruiting efforts.
Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.
