Overview
The USU's Geospatial Consortium is a centralized hub for geospatial information and resource collection, organization, and dissemination. The geospatial.usu.edu 'hub' houses information on geospatial courses, certification programs, events and activities, and opportunities for education, research, internships, and employment in GIS related fields.



The Geospatial Consortium Director will plan and coordinate the day-to-day operational, administrative, educational, fiscal, and marketing tasks related to a broad and evolving set of responsibilities that will directly support, enhance, and draw attention to Utah State University's growing geospatial program.

Responsibilities
Plans and coordinates the day-to-day operational, administrative, educational, fiscal, and marketing tasks related to a broad and evolving set of responsibilities that will directly support, enhance, and draw attention to Utah State University's growing geospatial program.
Teaches five classes to support degree programs in the Department of Environment and Society, broader Quinney College of Natural Resources, and the online GIS Certificate program. Courses will be determined according to program needs, but will include introductory to advanced GIS courses and data visualization.
Breakdown of tasks:

Teach two courses for the ENVS department to support their degrees in Geography and Environmental Studies.
Teach three to four online courses to support the graduate GIS certificate program.
Administer the graduate GIS certificate program.
Develop and coordinate the undergraduate GIS certificate program.
Manage the geospatial.usu.edu web platform to disseminate opportunities for education, employment, research, internships for students at Utah State and across Utah.
Enhance relationships with Utah colleges and universities to leverage existing geospatial programs and resources.
Promote Utah State educational, research, and employment opportunities to engage remote communities and students across Utah.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Earned MS degree in a field related to geospatial sciences and technology
Demonstrated ability to develop and teach both face-to-face and online courses in Geographic Information Science and Data Visualization
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in administration, marketing, and development of online educational programs
