JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Assistant Manager assists the Manager-Chick-fil-A oversee the day-to-day operations and activities of the UTHSC Chick-fil-A restaurant. Ensures quality services to guests; while ensuring all employees maintain the highest of guest service standards.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exhibits excellent customer service; while maintaining Chick-fil-A’s quality brand standards and values for professional and personalized guest services.
Ensures guest satisfaction and ensures employees maintain a neat, clean, and safe working environment in accordance with established health and safety standards.
Oversees employee trainings, ensures employees have an adequate understanding of the rules and regulations of the restaurant, provides guidance and recommends necessary discipline, as required.
Works with leaders to develop staff. Serves as mentor/coach.
Attends and successfully completes required trainings.
Opens and/or closes the restaurant daily.
Assigns employee shift schedules and evaluates task performance/completion.
Recommends suggestions for restaurant or culture improvement to the General Manager.
Ensures safety and health precautions daily before opening and/or closing shifts.
Records temperatures of all hot and cold products in accordance with the Chick-Fil-A operational guidelines.
Drives to catered events, when necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)


EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years’ experience in food/restaurant retail to include two (2) years of experience in food/restaurant management/supervision preferred. Attendance to University and Chick-fil-A training is a requirement. (ServSafe or similar certification is required).


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to supervise, mentor, and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, scheduling work assignments, and ensuring their professional development in the workplace.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and maintain a positive and respectful attitude with peers, students, supervisors, administrators, customers, and visitors.
Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and health department regulations.
Knowledge of restaurant industry standards and operating procedures, Chick-fil-A’s training and food safety guidelines.
Demonstrates knowledge of menu items.
Demonstrates good customer service skills, basic math skills, and fundamental computer skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
Ability to meet physical demands for entire shift, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Ability to work quickly, yet efficiently and thoroughly in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
Ability to work as part of a team.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver’s License (COPY OF LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)
