The Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center (DLDCCC) is a comprehensive cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute.  The DLDCCC performs cutting-edge research; provides services related to preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer; and develops the next generation of researchers and healthcare professionals. 

We have an opening for a Senior Research Administration Associate.  The position will be responsible for overseeing the pre-award and post award process for multiple research and subaward projects in the center. 

Job Purpose

Assists with oversight and provides support for the administrative and financial operations of a research study or clinical trial. Participates in pre- and/or post-award grant management activities.

Job Duties
  • Serve as grants liaison between the faculty, the College, national and international institutions, and federal/private funding agencies.
  • Consult with faculty regarding funding opportunities, eligibility, and application requirements for sponsored funding. The opportunities can range from simple grants to complex grants and contracts.
  • Manage and organize the submittal of the P30 NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) renewals, progress reports and supplement applications.
  • Develop all pre-award budgets for grant submissions to NIH and other organizations. 
  • Certify summary data in the College's electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN), which is used to route applications to our Sponsored Programs Office. 
  • Work directly with the Office of Sponsored Programs to ensure timely proposal submission, completion of progress reports, subaward agreements/amendments, close-out reports, no-cost extensions, and other related grant documents.
  • Serve as an information resource for faculty, students, and staff- disseminating key information via email and the Office of Research website, as well as attending College-wide workshops and training sessions.
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare and disseminate special financial reports. These reports can include various significant and complex grants and contracts that require rigorous financial analysis.
  • Oversee award processing, including verification of data entry and transition to post award.
  • Prepare outgoing subcontracts (funded grants) and reviews incoming subcontracts (funded applications from an outside institution) in accordance with granting agency guidelines.
  • Assist with monthly/annual department budget process.
  • Monitor grants accounts, financial activities and reports in SAP.
  • Submit and process BRAIN proposals.
  • Administer grants and contracts (pre and post awards).
  • Work with leadership and PIs to prepare budgets and monitors budgetary spending.
  • Work closely with the Grants manager to make sure all grants are allocated correctly.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
