Job Description

Dr. Chaitali Ghosh is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to perform research related to the blood-brain barrier and epilepsy, specifically investigating vascular mechanisms and enzyme-regulated pathophysiological alterations to the neurovascular biology affecting drug bioavailability across the blood-brain barrier. Dr. Ghosh's lab is in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner Research Institute.  Studies in this laboratory, including the current epilepsy project noted above funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Applicants should have a recent MD or PhD degree in neuroscience, biochemistry, pharmacology or a related field, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and a proven track record of first-author publications. Applicants should demonstrate skills in cellular and molecular biology and analytical chemistry techniques. Preference will be given to highly motivated candidates with previous experience with rodent models and surgery, human brain cells/tissue culture, and biomedical engineering. The appointee will be expected to take advantage of this career opportunity to develop skills in manuscript publication and grantsmanship.  For candidates outside the United States, there are English language fluency requirements.
