Job Description


This position schedules all procedures performed by the Cardiology Department at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. The Cardiology Department is an extremely high volume procedure Department so this position is integral to maintaining that volume. In addition to scheduling hospital-based procedures, this position follows-up with patients on their financial responsibilities prior to their appointment and ensures they pay their out-of-pocket balance.

Job Purpose

Schedules patient appointments for office visits, surgeries, tests, or procedures. Manages and coordinates patient referrals. Provides administrative support for physicians as needed. 

Job Duties
  • Schedules all cardiac catheterization and EP procedures, as well as cath procedures for the transplant team, performed at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center
  • Schedules all other diagnostic testing for 22 faculty performed at BSLMC (TEE, Cath, Device placement, CT, MRI, and many others)
  • Verifies patient information, demographics and insurance
  • Triages patient calls and routes to appropriate person
  • Provides instructions to patients for their procedures at BSLMC
  • Provides coverage to schedule all tests and follow up appointments in the clinic when needed
  • Follows-up with patients on their financial responsibilities and collects their out-of-pocket balance before their appointment
  • Monitors incomplete referral WQ and all diagnostic orders WQ
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience Required: Four years of relevant experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
