Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Communications and Outreach, the multimedia producer directs and creates video and other digital media for the College Admissions & Financial Aid Office. S/he will lead the new Content Lab, an initiative within the Admissions & Financial Aid Office whose mission is to create digital content, primarily video and other multimedia, for the strategic recruitment and enrollment of undergraduate students. The producer plays a primary role in establishing the multimedia studio, purchasing all necessary equipment, setting the strategy for the program, and hiring and training students.

Job-Specific Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and publish content for Admissions and Financial Aid communications (video, photo, digital, etc.) related to recruitment. Manage pre-production, planning, logistics, filming, editing, audio, and posting of video products.
Hire and oversee part-time student interns to source concepts and content for student-generated campaigns; train them in digital media production.
Manage crowdsourcing campaigns to gather, edit, and publish student-generated multimedia content.
Purchase and manage all video production and editing equipment, software, storage and any other relevant tools.
Integrate multimedia deliverables into Admissions & Financial Aid Office communications, including, YouTube, and the office’s social channels.
Collaborate with Communication Director, Manager of Digital Recruitment, and other stakeholders (e.g., donors, leadership, and staff) during all phases of production to ensure content is aligned with organizational priorities.Generate creative projects that simultaneously meet very specific client needs.
Contribute to efforts to make multimedia content social media-friendly; conceive/research new opportunities, technology, and formats to reach new audiences.
Act as technical liaison to other university departments and external vendors.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
At least three years of work experience.

Additional Qualifications

5 years of experience with motion graphics and video editing preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia/Visual Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field preferred.
Must be able to work on multiple projects and complete high-quality work in context of tight deadlines dictated by clients and management.
Excellent content judgment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Previous experience managing part-time staff or students a plus.
Strong understanding of fundamental design skills (i.e. color, typography, composition).
Previous experience working on video shoots, including providing and taking direction.
Experience with both DSLR cameras and professional film cameras.
Experience with organizing and archiving raw and edited video files, as well as audio editing and color correction.
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite CC applications.
