Summary

The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking applicants for its Senior Coordinator position to provide its educational mission by administrative management for the following educational programs, which includes the Summer Student Program, management of the UME Sub-Internship and Elective programs; assistant to the General Surgery Residency Program.

Job Duties
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the education programs.   
  • Responsible for assisting Program Directors with daily administration of the Residency Programs.   
  • Manages the Sub-Internship and Elective medical student programs as well as Michael E. DeBakey Summer Program.    
  • Manages the Global Surgery Track for the General Surgery Residency Program.    
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for the Residency Programs and work with Legal Affairs as necessary.     
  • Assists residents in obtaining and maintaining visa documents.    
  • Develops, and schedules curriculum for its educational programs.    
  • Manages website and recruitment for its programs      
  • Daily communication with the residents and fellows in management of its programs.    
  • Develops and maintains the residency and fellowship handbooks and guidebooks.    
  • Maintains MedHub in all aspects for its programs. .    
  • Develops educational programs with innovation in today's learning environment for advancement in educational training. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience Required: Four years of relevant experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
