Job Summary

Independently perform financial analysis to support department’s role in assisting management with financial planning efforts, budget analysis and monthly reporting.

Job-Specific Responsibilities

The Research Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Subject recruitment, including mailing invitation letters, set-up online questionnaire, track responses
Coordination of efforts to collect blood and toenail samples from subjects
Coordinating retrieval of stored teeth of subjects, preparing the teeth for measurements (embedding, cutting, polishing, and photographing)
Meet regularly with the study investigators, submit reports of project status, and suggest modifications or improvements to efficiency of study visits
Data management and human subjects research document tracking
Collate, organize, draft, and edit material for the preparation of research papers, manuscripts, progress reports, articles, or other documents for publications and/or presentation related to project activities
Process, organize, summarize, and help analyze study results, using a variety of software for documentation of work flow and experimental design and outcomes, data processing, statistical analyses and graphic representation of results, including word and excel
Other duties as required

PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term appointment of 2 years from the date of hire, with the possibility for extension.

Typical Core Duties

2+ years of relevant experience is required; a combination of education and experience may be considered

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors Degree is strongly preferred; a Bachelor's Degree in Science is preferred
Basic laboratory skills and experience with data entry is strongly preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office platforms, including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel strongly preferred
Attention to detail; strong communication skills and works effectively on a team preferred

Additional Qualifications

Harvard University requires pre-employment reference checks and background screenings.
This position has a 90 day orientation and review (O&R) period. The O&R period will be waived for any internal Harvard employee transfers.
