Job Description


The Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) at Baylor College of Medicine serves as the official institutional liaison between its academic programs, affiliate partners, and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). GME provides administrative oversight and academic quality for over 180 ACGME accredited and Texas Medical Board approved residency and clinical fellowship programs.

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Institutional Designated Official and Administrative Director of Operations, the Academic Operations Associate provides advanced professional project management experience in the coordination and execution of various processes relating to the education and training goals and missions. The Academic Operations Associate may generate and analyze data reports for program, institution, and accreditation oversight. The position requires a person able to work well within a team environment and with a willingness to assist team members when needed.

Job Duties

• Performs routine data and outcomes analysis of annual program evaluation for continuous quality improvement of ACGME and TMB Approved programs.
• Documents, monitors, and evaluates compliance with ACGME accreditation and TMB standards by creating accreditation reports, implementing processes, and reviewing current state of standards.
• Supports routine operational review of clinical and educational work hours all GME programs.
• Facilitates communication between to academic departments and affiliate partners with regard to program initiative and activities.
• Prepares high-level slide presentations, organization of key presenters during team meetings, quarterly affiliate meetings, program meetings, trainings, and follow-up with key stakeholders across the institution.
• Liaisons with Office of the Provost, the Office of the Dean of the School of Medicine, affiliate educational leadership teams and others to facilitate and implement program initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience. 
Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and understanding of ACGME accreditation requirements and Texas Medical Board standards. Including specific knowledge and experience with ACGME Common Program Requirements, ACGME's Next Accreditation System, specialty-specific Review Committee requirements, and specialty board requirements.
