Are you a qualified or part-qualified accountant? Are you looking for a challenging and busy role within the higher education sector?
The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) delegates responsibility for the management of its Atmospheric Research Aircraft (ARA) to FAAM Airborne Laboratory (FAAM). FAAM are the responsibility of NCAS, based at the University of Leeds (UoL). The FAAM facility has an annual budget of approximately £6.5m and management of the finances and contracts at FAAM is complex because there are several parties involved - NERC (the majority funder), UoL (Prime Contract Holder), BAe Systems (Aircraft Services provider and Prime Contract Holder) and several other suppliers of services.
We are now seeking to appoint a qualified or part-qualified accountant to undertake the role of FAAM Finance and Contracts Officer. The post will be based at FAAM at Cranfield University. You will have experience of working in a finance related role in a complex setting with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance specialists. You will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines. Enthusiastic, flexible and conscientious, you take a proactive approach to your work and will have the ability to work well both within a team and independently.
