The Data Science Analyst Associate will work under the Business Intelligence & Analytics (BIA) work stream and works as an integral part of the team. An associate/student resource is needed to assist BIA team in managing expanded scope of work and responding to evolving business needs/request queues in a timely fashion. The Associate will work closely with existing BIA staff through mentorship to support various operational activities the department is charged to deliver. The role is responsible for center-wide data extractions, queries, data reporting and data delivery. This position supports strategic initiatives by enabling the analysis of operational data (clinical, research, patient focused, financial and administrative) and report of aggregated information using various BI tools. This position collaborates with Moffitt clinicians, researchers, and operational staff to ensure their data reporting requirements are met through data extraction, reports/dashboards building, using a suite of comprehensive BI solutions.
The Ideal Associate will have:
- Strong analytic, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
- Some experience in data querying, extraction, data reporting and analysis in relevant information Systems capacity; or with any data analytics or statistical analysis tools like Tableau, SSRS/Power BI, SAS, R
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively work independently with minimum supervision and in large, diverse teams
- Some experience in writing standard SQL, T-SQL procedures and functions
Education and Experience Requirements:A Highschool diploma AND active enrollment and at least 1 year of completed studies within academic related programs at an accredited university and on track for near completion of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics/Data Analytics, Management Information Systems(MIS), Biostatistics, Public Health or related fields. Or enrollment within a Masters degree program.
