Position Highlights
The Agriculture Worker II will perform farm activities at the Southern Arizona Experiment Station such as preparing fields, planting, cultivating, and weeding; driving and operating farm equipment; cleaning shops, barns, and sheds; performing routine preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment; providing general labor as needed; and several other miscellaneous tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares fields, plants, weeds, cultivates, and harvests experimental plots and field crops.
Applies fertilizer, herbicide, and other chemicals to fields.
Drives and operates farm equipment.
Performs rodent control.
Cleans shops, barns, sheds, barn lots, and office facilities.
Drives trucks to transport farm supplies, tools, and equipment.
Performs routine preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Provides general labor support as needed.
Works in all weather conditions.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge of farming principles and operations.
Skill in the operation of farm equipment and in the use of tools used in the repair and maintenance of such equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required (GED).
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to operate farm equipment.
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Current Commercial Driver's License or the willingness to obtain one.
