The Academic Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the advising unit within the academic college. Under the general direction of the Dean and Associate Dean of the college and the Director of Undergraduate Academic Advising, the program manager plans and coordinates the academic advising, student recruitment, outreach, orientation, retention, probation, suspension, and student record keeping in the college (e.g.; graduation eligibility, academic progress, etc.). Position supervises three Academic Advisors in the college advising unit.

• Ability to supervise the work of others and maintain confidentiality of staff and students
• A comprehensive understanding of College of Health Professions curriculum structure and review process.
• The ability to integrate new employees into complex work environments through instruction and training.
• Possess the initiative to develop new procedures and practices as necessary to meet general responsibilities of the position.
• Proficient in computer use and software applications.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills including public speaking and supervisory personnel management skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and solve problems independently
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Multitasking ability and organization and time management skills allowing work to progress on several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Salary Range $39,500 - $45,450

Required Education
Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, education, student personnel, or other related field.

Required Experience
Advising/Counseling (2 years)
Familiarity with University setting (2 years)
Previous work with at-risk student populations (2 years)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (2 years)
Experience using Banner or other student information system (1 year)
Accurate and confidential record-keeping (1 year)

Preferred Experience
Experience in academic advising in higher education (4 or more years)
Experience using EAB Navigate academic advising platform (1 year)
Supervision of full-time staff (1 or more years)
