PERFA 37-02 Directing Lab

Wednesdays 2:45-4:20 pm
Modality: Hyflex (open to both remote and in-person students)

Saint Mary's seeks an innovative instructor for its Performance Lab series. This course introduces the basics of directing, from script analysis and ground plans to casting and coaching actors. Special emphasis is placed on the way the multiple "languages" of the stage (time and space, spoken word, movement and embodied action) combine to create the layered meanings we find in a performance.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate is an accomplished professional, with demonstrated excellence as an undergraduate acting instructor, and a minimum of a graduate degree in a related field. They will have experience with culturally diverse classroom settings; the ability to foster a student-centered, interactive and collaborative learning environment; and will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
