A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Vijay Krishna in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Lerner Research Institute, Cleveland Clinic to study the interaction of nanomaterials in animal models. The successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team of investigators including clinicians for design and evaluation of nanomaterials for biomedical applications. Specifically, the position will focus on design of energy-gated nanoparticles and drug-loaded nanomaterials for targeted delivery. Along these same lines, the molecular, biochemical and immunological mechanisms will be deciphered.
Candidates should have Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, materials science, nanomedicine, molecular biology, chemical biology and/or biochemistry. Successful candidates should have demonstrated expertise in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization and molecular biology techniques. Special consideration will be given to applicants with additional expertise in murine models.
Prospective candidates must be creative, self-motivated and capable of working independently. Candidates must be proficient in both spoken and written communication in English. Candidates will be expected to design and conduct experiments, statistically analyze data and write manuscripts and reports.
