Perfa 112 Private Music Instruction Lab: Instrumental & Vocal

Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach three quarter-credit (.25) sections of the course PERFA 112, Private Music Instruction Lab in the traditional undergraduate program in Spring 2021.

The modality for this course will be online.

• Section 1: (for Instrumentalists) Friday 1:00-2:35pm
• Section 2: (for Level I Vocalists) Monday & Wednesday 11:45am-12:45pm
• Section 3: (for Level II Vocalists) Monday, 1:00-2:00pm

Perfa 112 is a weekly music instruction lab, which all private students attend, to receive instruction in a wide variety of topics that facilitate their success as a musician. For Fall 2020, the content focus will be learning to use music technology for audio and video capture of live performances - including introduction to related software and hardware, microphone and camera placement and best practices, audio and video editing, and basics regarding online upload and file storage.



Bachelor's and Master's degree in performing arts, demonstrated expertise in audio and video capture and editing, and 3 years minimum experience teaching music and technology in college settings. Instructors should have performance expertise in an instrument, experience teaching private music lessons, and advanced skills in music recording and editing.
