Would you like to be part of a project mitigating the risks of floods and droughts, improving water quality, enhancing carbon storage and mitigating climate change and bringing significant benefits to the economy, environment and wider society? Do you have excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience of website development, social media, events management, and summarising environmental research?
The Yorkshire Integrated Catchment Solutions Programme (iCASP) is a £7 million investment, with funding from the Natural Environment Research Council, and a range of non academic partners, aimed at generating solutions to significant environmental issues and bringing benefits across rural and urban areas of Yorkshire.
The programme requires key skills to support the translation of science and the engagement of agencies across all sectors, particularly in communicating key outcomes from the programme and supporting initiatives that can enhance the long-term sustainability of the programme.
Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be key to generating impact and publicity, facilitating working relationships between academic experts and partners in industry and public sector organisations at both a regional and national level. You will facilitate access to information between academic experts and partners, providing information through events, the web, social media, briefing documents, and compiling responses to government consultations. You will support engagement with policy makers helping to influence decisions, and promote iCASP at an international level.
