About the Department
Institutional Strategy and Analysis (ISA) sustains NC State’s mission and vision as a Research I university by providing consistent and reliable data that informs, supports and advances the university’s academic, administrative and operational strategic goals. ISA collaborates across all campus constituencies and levels of governance to identify NC State’s information needs, collect and manage data, provide analysis, and disseminate clear and accurate findings to give momentum to the university’s forward progress.

In order to more efficiently and effectively serve the university community, ISA now provides increased functionality through the management of strategic planning, including implementation planning, and the Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program. The collective function of all parts of ISA further serve the diverse information and reporting needs of NC State and external entities in a timely, unbiased and responsible manner.

Essential Job Duties
Employee will manage and maintain the Senior Vice Provost’s extensive calendar.
Employee must be able to independently research information and prepare the Senior Vice Provost for meetings, presentations and travel.
Ability to provide administrative support for any committee meetings the Senior Vice Provost chairs or others for the office.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, coordinating time and location, compiling and distributing materials for the agenda, and attending and taking meeting minutes.
Employee Serves as representative and liaison between the Senior Vice Provost and their direct reporting staff as well as other campus administration.
Employee must be able to independently draft letters for the Senior Vice Provost in accordance with policies and procedures. Employee will respond to general inquiries on behalf of the Senior Vice Provost.
Employee will assist the department leadership team as approved by the Senior Vice Provost.
Other Responsibilities
Any assignments requested by the Senior Vice Provost. These include attending meetings, serving on committees, scheduling work groups and serving as a leader in bringing solutions to issues as they arise.

Minimum Experience/Education
High School diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or graduation with an associate’s degree in Secretarial Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications
-Demonstrated ability of handling confidential information.
-Calendar experience
-Ability to understand and apply the unit and organization mission and strategic goals, the programmatic
nature, and the cultural environment. Strong communications skills with multiple level of audiences using a variety of media tools.
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a team among a diverse group of academic and non-academic staff and administrators..
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a high degree of accuracy.
-Ability to multitask.
-Provide courteous and professional customer service.
-Ability to use discretion and exercise judgment.
-Establish and maintain effective relationships with a variety of constituents both on and off campus.
-Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (not sure comparable would work).
-Demonstrated ability to create high level reports.
-Ability to organize meetings and events.
-Ability to work remotely.
-Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
-Experience with event planning and execution.
-Professional experience in higher education.
-Experience creating and maintaining web content.
-Experience in drafting communications and reports.
-Budget and HR experience.

Preferred Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalency and five years of executive assistant experience for a high level administrator or a Bachelor’s degree and three year of executive assistant experience for a high level administrator;
or and equivalent combination of training and experience.
