The Department of Human Performance at West Virginia University is seeking applications for an Assistant Director of Recruitment. This position leads the recruitment activities for all programs under the School of Medicine Professional Programs. Manages the student ambassador program, social media and email communication for the programs. Develops and leads initiatives designed to increase enrollment in the program.



In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:

Research and develop strategic recruitment plans, and strategies that align with the overall recruitment mission of the department and bring new initiatives and ideas to Professional Programs. Utilize best practices and data to successfully implement the plans and develop new strategies.
Research high schools and universities/college in the state and the region to determine viable markets. Develop strategies to enter new markets especially high schools. Track and monitor applicants to assist with the research for targeted marketing.
Develop, implement, coordinate and participate in a recruitment travel program designed to enhance increased enrollment and information dissemination for Professional and Undergraduate Programs. Serves as primary recruiter and contact for prospective students and families. Meets with families and students on-campus and develops personalized visits. Follows-up with students who visit campus.
Develop the travel schedule for all recruiters in Professional Programs including high school and college travel and WVU events on and off-campus for graduate and undergraduate recruitment. Analyses past travel plans to determine the best course of action for the upcoming year. Manages all requests for travel based on resources and cost/benefit to the programs. Works with all 6 departments to secure resources and coordination of events and attendance.
Plan, organize, and direct a communication plan that includes written, email and calling campaigns for admitted and prospective students for all of Professional Programs. Manages all student communication and works to develop targeted messaging to different segments of students including transfer students. Utilizes Target X and other software to complete these tasks.
Manages recruiting material.
Manages the Professional Programs Student Ambassador group. Must recruit and train students to represent all programs at recruiting events. Supervises all participants in all activities.
Creates and manages a social media plan for all of professional programs aimed at attracting and enrolling quality students and developing mechanisms for increasing the number of prospective students who follow us on social media. This includes twitter, Facebook, webinars, Instagram, and other relevant forms of social media. Identifies, researches, and develops ideas/stories that would be of interest to prospective students. Creates Twitter and Instagram schedule that promotes Professional Programs on a regular basis.
Creates assessment tools and builds assessment into all strategies and programs. Analyzes results of all assessments and makes recommendations for changes and the evolution of programs and strategies. Tracks the latest trends in enrollment management to be used in planning.
Assists prospective students with the application process.
Serves as a liaison for professional programs and university groups across campus.
Serves as a presenter and guest lecturer as a means of recruitment at various venues including high schools, colleges/universities and WVU related functions and classes.
