Job Description


The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Psychology at Baylor College of Medicine seeks to fill a fulltime statistician position.  The Section of Psychology has 5 fulltime grant-funded research faculty.  Labs in this group conduct observational and intervention research with a range of pediatric populations (e.g., autism spectrum disorders, diabetes, cancer, mental health) and outcomes (e.g., behavioral, cognitive, psychosocial, medical).  Additionally, there are other faculty in this section who require statistical support for clinical research and scholarly activities.

The research faculty require an individual experienced with the following: analyzing large, longitudinal datasets, conducting multilevel modeling/analysis, analyzing clinical trials, examining medical, behavioral, and psychosocial outcomes/covariates, psychometrics, and social network analysis. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to methodological design decisions, writing up statistical plans, and conducting power/sample size calculations within a short timeframe to meet grant proposal deadlines.  Additionally, proficiency in producing effective data graphics (e.g., charts and figures) in an editable format is required.

Job Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in Statistics or related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to those with experience using SPSS, SAS, MPLUS, and Qualtrics.  Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills are required. Must work well in multidisciplinary teams and demonstrate the ability to promote an environment of positivity, collegiality, and collaboration. Flexibility, organization, and time management is essential to meet the deadlines of numerous faculty. Salary is commensurate with experience.
