Job Description
Summary
The Department of Surgery is seeking a qualified physician to provide care in the Texas Children's Hospital Congenital Heart Service.
- Perform and be skilled in data management and data analysis.
- Work closely with the Division Chief as a member of a multidisciplinary team to support and develop research projects.
- Develop oral/poster presentations, publishable scholarly manuscripts, and technical reports.
- Serve as a liaison with federal, state, and local agencies, coordinating efforts to obtain, manage, analyze, and disseminate data for epidemiological and clinical research.
- Actively assist the Division chief to seek out opportunities for research and extramural funding.
- Participate in grant writing activities that facilitate the development of successful research.
- Assure adherence within the collaborative research efforts to federal and state regulations as well as College-wide policies in the ethical conduct of research.
- Serve as Co-I on new proposals for external funding
- Disseminate research results: write manuscripts and give presentations for local and national audiences.
- Work with clinical faculty to develop scholarly products and enhance their scientific potential.
- Oversight of post-doc research fellowship and their research projects.
Minimum Education: M.D. or equivalent
Minimum Certification/Licensure: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board
