Job Summary
The Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences at Cleveland State University invites applications for two tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor Positions beginning August 2021. These positions will complement existing strengths in cellular and molecular biology research and our doctoral program, offered jointly with the Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. Biomedical researchers in the department maintain active research programs funded by major federal and foundation grants. We seek candidates working on important biological problems at the cellular and molecular level, with emphasis on computational/bioinformatics and structural analysis of complex biological systems. Salary commensurate with qualifications, and competitive startup funds will be provided. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field, a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience, a record of publications in peer-reviewed high-impact journals, demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching, and be supported by a current major extramural grant. Candidates who best match the position description, demonstrate the intent and potential to engage diverse students, and have a successful history of receiving extramural funding will be given preference. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to contribute through research, teaching, and/or service to the excellence of the academic community. Applicants accepted for the position are eligible for membership in CSU’s Center for Gene Regulation in Health and Disease (GRHD). Minimum Qualifications
