Job Opening Summary

Design, implement, and provide ongoing support for the Shands and UF/AHC network environment (local and wide area networks). Responsibilities include: Installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, performance monitoring to ensure stability and integrity of the data, voice, video and wireless networks; maintenance of network security policy; testing of backup and recovery procedures; problem identification and resolution; network documentation. Other duties could include: assist with IP administration functions and 3rd party software installation/configuration. Perform the role of network project lead on assigned projects and support initiatives. Actively participate in project teams. This position may be required to access confidential data in order to perform job responsibilities. On-call support responsibilities are required.


Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
An Associate's Degree (AA or AS) from an accredited college/university in computer science or another applicable area of study plus one (1) year of experience in network design, implementation and support is required; however an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Degree.

The following is desirable and considered a plus:
- Certifications such as those offered by CISCO Systems (CCNA, CCDA), BICSI¿s RCDD, BICSI TPM, or Project Management Certifications (PMP) certifications.

- Hands-on experience with the following products is desired: Router/switch network hardware and operating systems, firewalls, wireless architectures, location services, VoIP, access control products (i.e. Cisco products, ACS, TACACS, VPN); Network management, monitoring and support tools (such as CiscoWorks, NimBUS, Statseeker, SolarWinds and network protocol analyzers). Familiarity with the following products is considered a plus: AirMagnet, Juniper Firewalls, Radius, AeroScout RFID architectures, UNIX and Microsoft operating systems.

- Must have demonstrated the ability to:

- Determine the level of effort and time required to complete tasks.

- Complete tasks within the assigned timeline.

- Work cooperatively in a team environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
