Associate Faculty Pool, Chemistry (PT Faculty)




We accept applications for part-time faculty positions on an ongoing basis. Typical requirements for part-time faculty in the Chemistry Department are listed below. To be included in the part-time pool, please follow the application procedure below.

DESCRIPTION:

The Chemistry department is part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) division at Edmonds Community College. We prepare students for transfer degrees in the sciences and engineering as well for admission to nursing and other health science programs.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse ages, backgrounds, life experiences and abilities.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Teaching experience at a community college or university.


PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically performed in an academic classroom and lab, which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment.



COMPENSATION:

Salary is dependent upon contract load. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $3,855.



CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.
This position is part of a bargaining unit subject to a collective bargaining agreement.

Edmonds College, founded in 1967, is a public, two-year, coeducational state community college which each year welcomes some 11,500 academic and vocational students, including approximately 1,200 international students who come here from as many as 79 countries.
