Duties and Responsibilities
The Lead Tutor will develop and implement innovative strategies for supplemental instruction for the advancement of student success in Physics, Chemistry and Biology courses for the Department of Natural Sciences. The Lead Tutor will coordinate supplemental instruction and tutoring within the Physics, Chemistry and Biology curriculum. Tutors will implement and assess instructional activities across a variety of subject topics and course curricula. Our student-focused department requires a candidate with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and coordination. The candidate will work closely with other faculty in coordination of tutoring responsibilities, and in curricular and pedagogical initiatives and their implementation. Coordination responsibilities include managing tutoring and instruction caseloads based on semester course schedules, preparation of supplemental instructional materials based on course curricula, and successful execution of instructional activities as required to support student success. Teaching responsibilities may include student mentoring, and departmental services are also expected. The Tutor will also monitor student engagement in supplemental instructional activities, track student progress, and prepare and complete pertinent reports on tutoring activities.

Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Physics Concentration, or closely related STEM discipline required. MS or PhD degree holders welcomed.

Experience
Demonstrated expertise in course topics and relevant coursework. Experience working with various stakeholders such as students, faculty, and staff. Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated leadership ability, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated tutoring and teaching ability, with expertise in a variety of course topics. Ability to plan and execute schedules effectively. Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic. Ability to interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty, administrators, and external constituents, with confidentiality and poise. Ability to
multi-task and meet deadlines as required. Ability to track student performance and report activities.

Conditions of Employment
