Online MBA Support Technician

This position will report directly to the Online MBA Director. The main function of this position will be to provide timely technical support for the Instructional Design Team and the Faculty. This would include, but is not limited to, assistance with: uploading materials, course access, all Moodle tools, transcriptions and screencasts of lecture resources. There will also be the requirement of developing and delivering FAQs as well as brief tutorials on selected Moodle topics. Familiarity is required with Office 365, Google Apps, Moodle LMS, Echo 360. Co-ordination with the Instructional Design team is important.
Additional Tasks:

Facilitate initial SMC IT Service Tickets on behalf of Instructional designer/ Institutional outsider for initial access to: MY SMC account & Moodle

• Create Course shells for online courses not generated by the registrar.
• Produce FAQ/guides, video or written, on how to use and access different tools in Moodle and the online program for students/faculty.
• Trouble shoot basic Moodle issues (i.e., student not in course, faculty not seeing course).
• Submit tickets to SMC IT Services / Educational technology for greater technical issues discovered.
• Collaborate with partner vendors in deployment of tools in Online Program.

Experience and Qualifications
Required: AA degree.
Experience with Moodle (or other online teaching tools), Google Suite.
Proficiency creating frequently asked questions (FAQs) and video tutorials.

Desired: BA or BS degree.
Higher education experience.
Moodle LMS, Echo 360, Office 365, and management of service ticketing system.
