Job Description

The Department of Music at Carthage College seeks a music theatre voice specialist for a full-time,
benefits-eligible, ongoing contract position as Assistant Professor of Music. The ideal candidate will hold an appropriate terminal degree for the field of music theatre voice and should have a professional profile through performance and/or other professional activities. Keyboard skills sufficient to support instruction are required.


The ideal candidate will be a collaborative colleague with interest in program building and recruitment. The successful candidate will assume varied responsibilities as the program demands, including maintaining a private voice studio of music theatre students, teaching music theatre techniques courses, and music directing at least one main stage musical production each year.

Experience teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred. The appointment begins in August 2021.
