Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach PHED 006A-01 Archery in Fall 2021.

Thursdays: 1:15-3:25pm

This course provides students with an introduction to basic archery equipment, skills, and safety procedures. Class sessions will provide an opportunity to learn, practice, and develop correct shooting form (stance, alignment, anchor, aiming, release) and participate in a variety of archery rounds.


• Provide supervision and instruction for a Beginning/Intermediate Archery class for 130 minutes per week for the semester.
• Provide an instructional plan that includes health and safety considerations, rules and procedures for participation, knowledge of equipment, scoring, and knowledge of different types of competition.
• Provide a progression of basic skills instruction supplemented with developmental activities and drills for students of different skill levels
• Provide for the testing of skills in a voluntary competitive environment
• Provide a class environment focused on learning and skill development which leads to an appreciation of the sport and lifelong participation.


• Bachelor's degree required, enrollment in Master's degree program or Master's degree preferred
• Experience teaching physical activity classes, preferably Archery
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
