Job Summary/Basic Function:
We are seeking a highly organized, motivated individual to contribute to projects investigating autoimmunity and immune responses to vaccination. Duties will include basic immunologic techniques such as ELISA, Western blotting, cellular immunology, molecular biology, processing of blood samples, isolation of DNA, and data entry/analysis. If interested, additional duties may include biostatistical analysis, data visualization or bioinformatics analyses for candidates with relevant skills. OMRF is an independent, not-for-profit biomedical research institute adjacent to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) campus in Oklahoma City. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree typically in one of the biological sciences or equivalent years of professional, relevant laboratory experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to work independently and adhere to strict deadlines required. Must be professional, personable and able to deal with diverse personalities and cultures.

Work Hours: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics exposure highly preferred. Strong GPA, and interest in biomedical research and the ability to analyze and interpret quantitative data. Candidates in pursuit of graduate school or medical school are encouraged to apply. Solid computer skills with familiarity with Windows Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), graphing, visualization and statistical analyses is preferred.

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, use manual dexterity, talk or hear; Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or rodent dander. May work with toxic, caustic chemicals, radioactive materials, liquid nitrogen, human tissue or blood. Potential risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to cold 4C, and/or extreme cold -80C from freezers. Noise level is usually moderate.
