Job Description

The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities is a residential school for academically gifted high school juniors and seniors. The Academy is located on the campus of Ball State University and operates as a department of Teachers College.

Full time contract position available August 2021, for the academic year. Primary responsibilities include teaching American Literature survey, World Literature survey, and Composition.
The Indiana Academy serves approximately 250 juniors and seniors who are gifted and talented from across the state of Indiana and through its international program. The Indiana Academy’s major purpose is to provide educational opportunities appropriate to the ability and development of its students. It is a primarily residential high school with several local non-residential students. Through various outreach programs, the Indiana Academy strives to stimulate and enable vitality in educational programs for students who are academically gifted. The Academy is committed to creating innovative programs and practices that attract, retain, and nurture a diverse Academy community.

Minimum Experience:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in English or related field; previous teaching experience at the secondary level or undergraduate collegiate level.

Preferred Experience:

Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in English or related field; significant previous teaching experience at the secondary level or undergraduate collegiate level. Experience teaching Dramatic Literature, Medieval Literature, and Expository writing.
