·Oversees all activity related to the assessment, planning, implementation, and post-delivery support of all applications and interfaces utilized by Moffitt's Anatomic Pathology, Hematopathology, and Laboratory Medicine departments.
·Works closely with key administrative and faculty leaders within these areas as well as IT functional units to ensure high quality solutions delivery and ongoing support.
·Supervises the Clinical Systems Analysts responsible for implementation and support of these systems, and provides routine coaching and mentoring for these resources.
·Prioritizes requests and projects in accordance with Moffitt's strategic plan, with clear and well-communicated timetables for completions.
·Manages key projects to successful completion, including updates, upgrades and other Laboratory system activities, and may provide leadership for consulting services associated with these initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate:
·Significant and successful experience with implementation of laboratory systems in a hospital setting.
·Prior experience with Cerner Millennium PathNet.
·Works directly with faculty and staff in design, analysis, testing, training, and implementation and support activities.
·Recruits, manages and develops group of analysts and consultants as needed.
·Actively participates in work groups, committees and task forces necessary to facilitate systems planning, development, integration, validation, and implementation activities.
·Ensures appropriate on-call coverage is provided for Laboratory systems.
·Develops and implements communications plans to supply faculty and staff with appropriate information concerning technology changes that will impact departmental workflow.
·Serves as resource to Director of Clinical Systems and other IT leaders in the development of project timetables for proposed projects, assigns appropriate staff members to projects, ensuring teams are composed of individuals with appropriate skills and expertise; holds staff accountable for timely completion of assigned project tasks and deliverables.
·Oversees development of testing plans for introduction of new systems/technology and changes to existing systems/technology.
·Conducts feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, ROI analysis or other evaluations as directed by Director of Clinical Systems or other IT leaders
Credentials and Qualifications:
·Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Laboratory Science, Computer Science, Healthcare or related
·Three (3) years leadership experience as Supervisor, Team Lead, Manager or above
·Three (3) years of laboratory systems experience
·Significant and successful experience with implementation of laboratory systems in a hospital setting
·Prior experience with Cerner Millennium PathNet and Sunquest PowerPath
·MT(ASCP) or equivalent
